The Frontier Index, open and downloadable

A free, open dataset of the 240 latest scientific discoveries and breakthroughs right now, each scored 0 to 100 across evidence, impact, and novelty from up to 13 independent public data sources. Every score traces to its primary record. Download the whole index as CSV or JSON, licensed CC BY 4.0, with new entries added daily and every score re-checked weekly.

The file

What is in it

One row per breakthrough. The scores are recomputed through the same methodology the site renders, so a value in the file is the value on the page, never a stale copy.

evidence, impact, noveltyThe three pillar scores, 0 to 100, that compose the Frontier Score.
tier / confidenceThe score's band from Landmark to Early, capped by confidence (an Early signal shows at most Notable, Firming up at most Major), and how settled the evidence is.
published_dateWhen the underlying work was published.
doi / source_urlThe primary record, so every entry is traceable to its source.
authors / institutionsWho did the work and where.
summaryA factual, one-paragraph description of what was done.

License and how to cite

The compiled Frontier Index (this selection and its scores) is licensed CC BY 4.0: free to use, share, and build on, with attribution. The underlying bibliometric data keeps its own open licenses, documented on Sources. How each score is computed is on Method.

The index is also archived as a citable, DOI-minted dataset on Zenodo, with a permanent DOI that always resolves to the latest version. Cite the DOI for a stable, versioned reference.

Generous rate limits (60 list requests a minute per IP) with standard X-RateLimit-* headers. The machine-readable API description lists every endpoint and parameter. Licensed CC BY 4.0, the same as the files.
